ANNI is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Nigerian and African immigrant nurses in Ireland through integration programs, healthcare advocacy, and cultural bridging initiatives. As a UX researcher and designer, I collaborated closely with ANNI to co-create a digital ecosystem that centralizes educational resources, welfare guidance, and peer networks, addressing systemic barriers faced by African healthcare professionals in Ireland.
"Thrive Together!" 🌍 turned scattered education and welfare resources into one simple platform, helping African nurses and midwives focus on their careers and communities in Ireland, while ensuring no one is left without support.

IDENTIFYING KEY FEATURES
We conducted thematic analysis based on interviews with ANNI membership holders. Sketch board is created by translating user-described needs into sketch concepts to refine feature design specifications.

Surveys and interviews have revealed significant concerns about security vulnerabilities, privacy breaches, and recurring issues of discrimination, bullying, and toxic speech—all of which actively suppress user participation and self-expression on the platform.
Security and privacy features on the community forum, and a complaint/suggestion box are added to ensure a safe and supportive communication environment.

This online supporting platform is designed for midwives and nurses who originally from Africa and have moved to Ireland. Future work could focus on expanding it to serve immigrants from other countries, helping them build connection and support each other in foreign countries.
